The Starburst Square (Free Pattern)

The starburst square is a lovely addition to any squares project. I originally made this square in black and white for my Circles and Stripes Baby Blanket and have since made some adjustments to the pattern for other projects. I have two variations on this pattern. The first is for a smaller square that is approximately 5 inches across. The second version of the pattern adds an extra row to the second color round to get a 6 inch square.

Want to make your own starburst square? Here’s how!s

  • medium weight yarn (I used Caron Simply Soft yarn)
  • crochet hook in size recommended for your yarn
  • yarn needle to weave in ends
For a smaller (approximately 5 inch) square:

This pattern is written in US terms.
